Our Story

Hello, I'm so glad you are here. I would like to introduce myself as the owner of Mama Lulu. My name is Aprilee and I am happily married to my best friend. He is my business partner and my number one fan and supporter. We have 5 beautiful children. We had 3 of our of children early on. Years later we decided to add to our family. It took a lot longer than we had planned. In May of 2019 we had our daughter Blayklee May stillborn half through our pregnancy. Loosing her changed me in so many ways. Because of her I wanted to help other Mama's when their world crumbles too. I wanted to give them a little something that they could snuggle with, when their arms felt empty and their hearts ache. I created Blayklee's Boxes in honor of our Beautiful Butterfly who changed me for the better. A portion of all sales with be going to Blayklee's Boxes, so we can get more boxes into hospitals and into Mama's hands. I wish they didn't need a box. I wish babies didn't die, but I just want them to have a little something to make memories in their short time with their baby. He makes us smile and laugh every day. He brought healing to my broken heart. Having him 11 years after our youngest was starting all over again. Here we had a 17 year, 14 and 11. We were way passed the baby, even little kids' stage. Some think we are crazy for having more kids when our children are almost grown. The truth is 17 years flies by really fast. Being able to do all of those stages over again is a blessing and we love every minute of it. With having Luka I started researching more babies clothing. That's when I found out about the bamboo world. I really loved the softness when I put them on Luka. With covid my job offered me an extended time off, but I started to get bored. That was when my idea of creating my own designs of bamboo clothing came. When I was a child, my nickname was Lulu. My favorite job is being a Mama and with my little Luka. The name Mama lulu was created, and we knew it was the perfect name for our company. The logo of our butterfly is for our little butterfly who is by our side every step of the way. All of our designs are unique to Mamalulu. They are one of a kind. We use a thicker bamboo, so it's less see through, more durable, but still amazingly soft.
